Saint Aristocles of Athonite was one of the

The life of the Saint…
Alexius Ambrose was born in 1846 in Orenburg,
Urals.
After the death of his wife, in 1876, he left
for Mount Athos and entered the monastery
of Agios Panteleimon.
On March 12, 1880, he became a monk and received
the name Aristocles.
In 1884 he has ordained a deacon and an elder
and in 1886 he became a great monk.
In 1887 he was sent to the convent of his
monastery in Moscow, where he became a new
owner and was
the spiritual father of many souls.
His stay in the metochi from 1891-1894 created
a great intellectual work around him.
From 1895-to 1909 he returned to his monastery.
From 1909-to 1918 he went and remained again
in the Moscow metochi.
He was adorned with the gifts of foresight
and miracles, with which he helped many souls.
His sacrificial love and merciful heart softened
even the stoniest hearts.
Crowds of needy people found their salvation
near him.
He was rightly named the Elder of Moscow.
His blessed sleep took place on August 24,
1918, in his cell, in the parish of Agios
Panteleimon.
He made his cross three times, seeing the
image of Gorgoypikou, which he particularly
revered and in which he had built a temple,
and quietly surrendered his spirit to his
Maker.
His body was buried under the temple of Gorgoypiko.
In 1923, in order not to be desecrated by

In 2004 his relics were recovered and transported
to
