"Now

Global fuel shortages have begun. Fuel shortages will bring food shortages and shortages of other necessities. Electricity will have to be turned off. The saints spoke of these things many years ago. Therefore, we will need two great virtues: faith and patience. And one strengthens the other; faith strengthens patience and patience increases faith.

'My Christ, give me patience and the faith of the saints. This is how we will proceed from now on.' It is a global war that has started in divided Europe with the migrants. Be careful with the migrants you have. They are being controlled. And do you know how you should be careful with them? By loving them, by not exploiting them. These people are in pain. But if they see exploitation, as they see in Athens and Europe, they will rise up and dissolve our European rights and our human rights activism. And then what Saint Paisios said will happen: first, Europe will dissolve because it lacked faith and Orthodox patience, and then the Great World War. This must happen; there is no other way to cleanse ourselves of all this anomaly we have gathered. If we do the few things we mentioned earlier—the night prayers, the prayerful, liturgical acts—the evil will be less. And especially in our region, on the island of the saints, it will come so little, and with such a blessing, along with the freedom of all Cyprus, that we will wonder what God found in us—us, who were good-for-nothing—and showed us this great mercy.

And yet, if we do those few things we mentioned—the night prayers, prayerful and liturgical acts—the many blessings will come. I wish this for you, and may you wish it for us as well."
