the life of the world we have the injustice and suffering in the personal life of each
person and we also have the suffering and injustice in the
world in the multitudes of people let us first consider how
we deal with the suffering and sacrifice that an orthodox Christian makes in
his personal life so we said before that in principle the life of
Christ is the model of the life of the Christian man the
Christian must imitate the life of Christ and the life of Christ passes through
the cross so the Christian will also pass through the cross if he wants to
go to the kingdom of God to go to the kingdom of God you go through the
cross from the cross you will go to the resurrection and the resurrection will put you in the kingdom
of God so we have the Christian in his life says
the gospel also says Christ in this world you will have tribulation says the
saint Isaac the hero says a very important thing that the spirit of
God wants the spirit, that is, God wants Christians to have
sorrow and calamities in this life, he wants it and someone says why does he want it, because this
is the way, I am the way, says Christ, I am the way, and since he
is the way, his way is through the cross, it leads to the resurrection and to the
kingdom of God, so all of us will pass if we want to go to
his kingdom of God and if we want to be with God's people we will
all go through suffering through a cross and to each person God gives
his own cross or he will give him an illness or he will give him a great
mental or physical sorrow or he will give him a difficult one a difficult wife or he will
give him his children a difficulty or in his work a difficulty
with a difficulty after all he will give him a cross this cross now the
Christian must endure him pick up not to throw him away
and you see that those who divorce I gave an example now what is happening in the lives of
Christians today when many couples divorce because they do not take up
each other's cross you have a difficult wife you have a difficult man
instead of taking up your cross his cross you divorce him while Christ wants
you to be patient with him take up his difficulty help him
overcome his own difficulty if you do it patiently let him sanctify and
he should sanctify and you should sanctify and he doesn't want the separation,
that's why many people tell me that Christ allows divorce, he said it himself,
he allowed it then in the old testament, Moses says because of our hard hearts,
that is, in essence, Christ doesn't want it because he wants
people to endure each other in marriage and now we have many
children, many sick people who have various diseases and they endure
they have physical physical they are not healthy they have a big big
cross in their life the sick or the quadriplegic or different in the various
situations this suffering that God allows in the life of the Christian
in essence what does this suffering purify him with the patience and
prayer that the sick person must have on this cross that
Christ has given him is to help him be cleansed of passions and
prepare him for the next life so if he receives it as a eucharist without
touching it and says God has allowed this for me to be blessed and takes it
like a blessing and lifts it up with thanksgiving this is the best
position for and it passes painlessly he suffers but passes as painlessly as possible
this cross then and now you see that because we must
have a cross many ascetics who do not
have a cross God has not given them a cross they invent a cross another goes to a
pole another goes to a cave another goes to the desert they invent a difficult life
another is given with ropes another with chains why do they do this they invent
a cross to have sorrow out of love for Christ they do it so the one who
loves Christ does not throw away his cross and in fact if he has not invented it
this is terrible so why then through suffering and sacrifice for the
love of God and the love of Christ who was crucified without fault and
took upon himself the sins of the whole world his human nature bore the
sins of the whole world thus and endured he came down to the earth ephah to the end
humiliation he went to hell to save the living and the initiated
so for this thing and the love of Christ who did all this for the
world for man each one of us must take up
his cross with patience and not to grumble so this is the meaning of suffering
that is it is one by one rescue work which brings us leads us
leads us ultimately to the peace of Christ and the kingdom of God when
someone does it when he accepts this cross that he has for the love of god
and the love of Christ this slowly brings health to his soul because
he does it with thanksgiving so when he sees it positively that is out of love for Christ and
he is patient he will not be depressed but if
ogist carries a heavy burden that is he starts and
complains and says why should I suffer this and why this will
lead him to depression
