It is not easy to distinguish most of the times whether dreams or visions come from God, from demonic energy or are merely natural events.
That is why special attention is needed to accept them or not, something that most of our doctrinal and ascetic teachers have pointed out to us.
Thus, according to these fathers, the dream, the vision and the miracle still do not appear with clarity before us, rather their interpretation and evaluation are not made by themselves, but they depend on our own conditions: according to the the degree of discrimination we have and the assessment of the above phenomena. This means that the interpretation we give may be the reason for progress or regression in our spiritual life, since the interpretation will be colored by the content of our heart. Thus, it is not a few times that a vision, for example, is considered as God-derived, while in reality it is a demonic inspiration, as is probably the other way around. The first reason for these issues, therefore, is, as we have said, the virtue of its distinction.
